Chain Conveyors
General Design
We customize our chain conveyors to ideally suit your requirements and application.
Housing
- Dust-protected
- Gastight (e.g. for extraction plants)
- Oil-tight (e.g. press-oil from oilseeds)
Trough contruction options
- Chain guiding on plastic anti-wear bars (our standard) or with manganese steel anti-wear bars
- Plastic bottoms available
- Optionally with bolted abrasive resistant lining for bottoms and sidewalls (e.g. in Hardox 450 quality)
Conveyor chains
- Bushed conveyor chain (link chain, similar to DIN 8165), with tempered pins & bushes and bolted-on plastic flights for very quiet and low-wearing operations
- Drop-forged conveyor chain (fork-type chain)
- Round link chain
Drive concepts
- Indirectly driven with a chain drive (ratio = 1:3)
- Directly driven with a clutch
- Directly driven with bevel geared drives (with hollow shaft)
Chain tension
- Chain tensioning with stainless steel spindles. Spring compression take-up to maintain constant chain tension (reduction of wear and tear of sprockets and chain)
Sprockets
- Hardened teeth with dirt notches, always in split design
Inspection flaps
- Positioned above sprockets by our standard
- Optionally further inspection hatches on request
Bearing
Customized for each conveyor type and size, e.g.:
- Head: out-board heavy-duty pillow block roller bearings
- Tail: out-board heavy-duty center push take-up roller bearings in a strong take-up frame
Sealing
- Dust protected conveyors:
- Shafts: Split rotary shaft seals
- Trough Flanges: Silicon
- Gastight conveyors
- Shafts: Packing glands
- Trough Flanges: PTFE-seals
- Other options for other applications available on request (e.g. heat resistant)
Models
Chain Conveyors are divided into two different models:
Model A
- Horizontal transportation or on a slight incline (to about 15°)
- Housing widths up to 1,600 mm
- Conveying capacities up to 500 t/h (1000 m3/h)
Model B
- Inclined to vertical transportation (from about 16° - 90°)
- Including or excluding curve segment (cobra type conveyors)
- Housing widths up to 900 mm
- Conveying capacities up to 250 t/h
- Conveying volume up to 500 m3/h
