History

Ilchmann Fördertechnik GmbH was founded in 1992 by Hans-Joachim Ilchmann. At that time, Hans-J. Ilchmann had already acquired many years of experience whilst working for the reputable German company Förderanlagen und Maschinenbau Wilhelmshaven (FMW), where he was a member of the board and directed the FMW-South office in Darmstadt. As a recognised specialist in the area of conveyor technology for bulk materials, he founded Ilchmann Fördertechnik GmbH based in Bickenbach (between Frankfurt/Main and Heidelberg).

The central theme or 'leitmotif' of the new company is to be able to offer suitable conveyor systems and components with the highest standard of quality and construction for market specific requirements.

In so doing, Ilchmann Fördertechnik GmbH concentrated on planning and designing systems in-house and then assigning the production to selected partners who are specialized in the respective methods of production.

Thus, a broad spectrum of conveying systems and components could be offered from the start, and existing designs can rapidly be adapted to suit special requirements.

In the following years, Ilchmann Fördertechnik consistently continued to expand its program. In addition to conventional systems such as troughed chain conveyors as well as bucket conveyors, special systems such as sidewall conveyors and girdle pocket elevators (initially developed by Schenck) joined the product range very soon.

The international customers are predominantly located in the food processing and chemical industry, power plant and steel mill areas as well as the rocks and soil sector.

The company's success is however not only attributed to the role as a supplier of specially selected and high quality components. Ilchmann Fördertechnik GmbH offers its customers a comprehensive range of services, which include the planning, installation and construction of the plant, to the everyday operation and maintenance of the plant.
